Remote Online Notarization Update 2024

As of January 1, 2024 44 states or 88% of states have enacted some form of remote online notary legislation according to Pavaso.  Pavaso is an industry leading online notary platform for real estate loan closings.

Remote Online Notarization is known by the acronym RON or is sometimes called Virtual Notarization. In the RON process, a notary and a signer(s) are online together using audio/visual technology to communicate.  A state approved notary platform is used to perform the notarial process.

According to the national title agency Old Republic, remote online notarizations provides 5 benefits over traditional “wet” signings.

  • SAFETY:  Notary avoids going into unsafe environments.  The notary and the signer avoid exposure to any illness or other contagion.

  • CONVENIENCE: Remote Online Notarization saves time and travel inconveniences.

  • ACCESSIBILITY: More people, especially the handicapped or disabled have access to notary services.

  • EFFICIENCY:  Virtual Notarization reduces paperwork and saves processing time.

  • EASE OF USE:  Signers can accomplish the notarization using a smartphone, tablet (iPAD), laptop or desktop Computer.

If you need to notarize a document online, be sure to use a reliable and experienced notary.  At AZ Roving Notary, we can notarize your documents no matter where in the world you are located.

Here is what one client had to say about the service at AZ Roving Notary:

“Thank you so very much. You made it easy and seamless and saved me so much hassle and I am so grateful I found you.  My client Michelle and I talked, so I know it all went smoothly and it’s the documents are on their way to Portugal Consulate, which is the next step before I receive it here. --Gayle Felbain”
